Trust Fully
The heart cries, 'Trust Fully' as ashes drop from the sky.
The battle ensues, as I am to choose vulnerability or invulnerability.
How can I trust when I'm back to ground zero?
I lived with vulnerability — an open heart, building others up, listening.
Never shall they go unseen and unheard.
Oh, I was too open; invulnerability sets in
Never again will they get too close, to see my demons.
To be unseen, unheard is welcomed here.
Old habits, mistrust sets in.
Cataloging conversations, facial expression — perceived and real
To start over once again, can it be done?
Here I lay in a mound of ashes, do I dare stand? I shake, and soot remains.
Drip, drip, the cleansing rain penetrates the depths of my soul.
Looking for the celestial lights, Gold shines through
Vulnerability calls out to Resilience — step forward, move on, start new.
The whisper is clear. Trust Fully! I am right here with you yesterday and today.
Past is but a mist. Embark on a new journey, a new season.
To glide through bodies of water, skip through dense forests, and experience joy
and peace.
With others on the grassy pastures amongst the wildflowers.
Where the battle is won, and everyone is seen and heard.
Where vulnerability or invulnerability are one in the same
Where trust becomes commonplace
— a journey from the ashes of mistrust through the cleansing rain, toward the light where vulnerability and resilience become one.
